Weekly Newsletter-29.03.19


Dear Parents,

Thank you to all nursery parents who attended the grand opening of our new nursery this morning. The positive comments and support you showed are much appreciated and confirm, like us, you are really excited about the new opportunities it provides for our youngest children.

Reminder-Parent evenings-Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th April
There is a link on the blog/facebook for parents to make appointments for the forthcoming Parents evenings. Please ensure you have put in your request by Wednesday 3rd April and staff will get back to you by Friday 5th with confirmation of appointment times.

Diary Dates
Monday 1st April- This is the last week of swimming for our year 4 pupils this term. Germany class are visiting the Sealife centre in Southend and Miss Pountney will be leading Laos assemblies to inform pupils of the amazing charity venture she is undertaking this coming summer, which, as a school, we are supporting.

Tuesday 2nd April-Autism awareness day-Mrs Jolly will be holding assemblies on this theme for pupils across both Key Stages -This is especially important as our new ARP is due to open very soon. some of our older pupils will be attending a Basketball competition at Emerson Park and Greece class will be visiting the Sealife centre in Southend. Madagascar class will be spending the day at Raphael’s Park. Year 3 parents/carers are invited into school between 14:30 and 15:00 for a reading afternoon. After school our netball team will be playing a match against Pyrgo.

Wednesday 3rd April-Egypt class will be visiting Raphael’s Park whilst Italy class are going to the Sealife centre in Southend. Nursery parents are invited to come and visit Mead farm between 11:00 and 11:30 and 14:00 and 14:30. Reception parents are invited to come and see our farm between 13:45 and 14:45.

Thursday 4th April- Brazil class will be spending the morning at MOD Pizza in Romford. Kenya class will be visiting Raphael’s Park. Parents of year 1 and 2 pupils are invited to visit Mead farm between 13:45 and 14:45.

Friday 5th April-Laos Day-Non-uniform day in support of Miss Pountney who is raising funds for volunteering trip to support teachers/schools in a third world country-Pupils are invited to wear red, white and blue, the colours of the Laos flag (a donation of £1 would be appreciated).Parents of our year 1 children are invited into school between 14;00 and 15:00 for their showcase.

Havering Catering Services
Week beginning 1st April is week 2 on the Havering Catering Services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.20.
Please be reminded to top up your child’s catering account as we cannot provide dinners for pupils whose accounts exceed a debt of £10.

Attendance Update
Well done to Chile class who had the highest attendance in Y5&6 and overall at 100%-They have now earned themselves a cupcake party. Germany had the highest attendance in LKS2 at 98.3% and Egypt had the highest attendance in KS1 at 97.8%. Well done to them! The overall attendance was better at 94.3% but is still short of out 96% target!
