Kenya Class Forest School

Kenya had a brilliant time at Forest School. The children were making some pumpkin mud pies and looking at the insects and worms they found when digging. We spoke about why worms live underground and how they like the dark, warm, moist microhabitat of the soil.

We loved playing in the shelter and watching an adult use a Kelly Kettle to make hot chocolate which we thoroughly enjoyed. We discussed the fire triangle and the three things that a fire needs to spread and survive. Next time, we will forage for the firewood ourselves.

Year 2 have had a brilliant start to their Forest School journey this term and seem to be really enjoying their sessions 🌿

Madagascar Forest School

Madagascar had a very different Forest School session today due to the wind making our forest unsafe. Instead, we played some super fun team building games and enjoyed working together to carry water on a tarpaulin.

Well done Madagascar! 🌿🌳

The children were fantastic and loved the challenges they were faced with. As a treat, we ended the afternoon with a warm hot chocolate. ☕️

Team work in Year 5

This week in Year 5, we have been looking at the rules that help make teamwork as effective as possible. First we tried to create a tower without any rules or plan. We then tried again with everyone in the team having a role to play and starting with a discussion and plan for success. Safe to say teamwork makes the dream work!
