Science Week in Year Three!

This year's theme for Science Week was Growth - something our children do a lot of! In class, we spent time looking at lifecycles, including the stages of being a human. Then, we measured the children and tried to guess who would be the tallest. We can't wait to measure them again in a month and see the difference!

Our year threes enthusiastically participated in the poster competition and we are very proud of the effort they put in.

After lunch, we joined schools around the country in a special live video on space. The students got to choose the speed of a satellite, which satellite was launched and communicate with the presenter in a Q and A!

Well done to all our clever scientists!

Chirping Chicks in Year 2!

During science week Year 2 have had a very special delivery, ten little chicks. An incubator and eggs arrived on Monday as part of the living eggs project. The children excitedly waited, watched and listened in anticipation and slowly the chicks emerged from their shells. We will spend next week enjoying their stay before they return to the farm. This experience is linked to our work on living things and their habitats and we will further enhance this topic with a trip to Langton’s park exploring the animals and habitats they have there.
