 Reception performed their last poetry basket poem in assembly today. Our poem today was called "Christmas is here".

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

 Christmas is definitely in the air across the Reception corridor as this week we learnt and performed a poem all about Father Christmas. Our poem this week was called "His hair is white".

 Reception have been getting into the Christmas spirt this week. We have been learning a lovely poem called "Counting Christmas" as part of our poetry basket session.

Year 1 Firework Night Poem

 

In English we are learning all about a poem called ‘On Firework Night’ by Andrew Collett. We have created signs to perform with the poem and have learned all about the different types of fireworks. Today we created firework art to help us describe the different fireworks using adjectives.

Falling Apples

 This week in Reception the children learnt the poem "Falling Apples" as part of their poetry basket session. We even had some lovely apple tress painted in Barbados Class to accompany our poem!

Wise Old Owl

 This week the children in Reception learnt and performed a poem about a wise old owl as part of their poetry basket sessions.

Leaves are falling

 Reception performed this week's poetry basket poem "Leaves are falling" during assembly today. It was a superb performance and we were very proud of how well they recalled the words and performed the actions.
