Springtime for St Lucia at Forest School

We had an exciting day exploring our senses to discover the new season. Spring is here, and we spied many blossoms, green shoots, and tweeting birds!

We played 'catch the moth', and the blinded bats tried to find their squeaking dinner!

Some of us built dens and camouflage to shelter us in the forest.

We practiced threading wooden flowers onto thread using the right numerical order.

Some friends helped their blindfolded adventurers cross the obstacle course, being their eyes and ears as they transversed the logs!

We also explored our senses, diving into mystery bags to see if the objects were spiky, smooth, rough or slimy! We had fun guessing what the bags held.

St Lucia will be back at Forest School in two weeks.

St Lucia's Fun in the Forest!

This week in Forest School, our children made many new discoveries! Wrapped up nice and warm, we found large amounts of beautiful clear ice, frozen leaves and crystals in the frost. We scoured the forest for branches and leaves to build a den that would not only fit our forest school creatures, but one whole person!
Some children conquered the slippery stepping stones, some stirred water and ice in the mud kitchen, others learned to work pulleys to move buckets towards and away from them. It was a week of very exciting discoveries the children couldn't wait to share with the grown ups. St Lucia will be back at Forest School in two weeks!

Welcome to Reception St Lucia!

In St Lucia class, our new learners have been busy making new friends, discovering new ideas and having loads of fun!

From connecting puzzles, driving busses, building train tracks and roaring like dinosaurs, the children in St Lucia have happily settled into their new class.

The children have made new friends, and worked together to play with their new toys. Many have been working hard on writing their name, counting to ten and using their brilliant singing voices to learn new nursery rhymes!

Thank you to all the parents in St Lucia who have helped their children settle in so well. We can't wait for the year ahead!
