Christmas Concert at Paines Brook Court
Well done to Mead Singers who performed today at Paines Brook Court. They sang a collection of Christmas songs bringing Christmas spirit and joy to local residents.

Pantomime Year 1
Today KS1 got to watch Aladdin performed as part of our Christmas celebration. The children were so excited to see the show and join in with all the booing and cheering throughout. Some children even got to dress up and become a part of the production, having a few lines or joining in with a dance. The children really enjoyed watching this pantomime.

Festive card competition
Well done to everyone who took part in the Purple Mash festive card competition. All of the entries were wonderful.
The winning entries were selected and the children received a festive selection box to enjoy. The winning cards will also be sent to classes around the school.

Mead Pupil Photography Consent 2022
It is necessary for us to review and update photo consent regularly so that we can share all of the wonderful experiences, work and awards that are celebrated each week. Please complete the form below to update our records on your preferences of photographs being taken. If you have more than one child at the school there is an option for you to add all of your children to this form on question four. Google Form
Children in Need - Friday 18th November
The Pupil Parliament will be raising money for Children in Need on Friday 18th November. They would like everyone to be Spotacular and wear spots. They will collect donations on the day, please donate what you can to Children in Need. They will also be taking part in a Spotacular drawing competition. All entries must be sent back to school by Monday 14th November.
Christmas Fayre
Mead Primary School in collaboration with the Mead Parent Hub are proud to present our Christmas Fayre 2022. Please come along and join us on Saturday 26th November from 11am - 4pm for lots of festive fun.
There will be
- Stalls
- Games
- Food and drink
- Raffle
- Tombola
And of course, Santa in his Grotto!
All money raised will go straight back into our school to enable us to do more for our school and wider community. If you are interested in holding a stall, or would like to donate raffle or tombola prizes, please contact the Parent Hub directly at parenthub.mead@learningfederation.org.uk

YN - Y6 Class Parties - Thursday 16th December (pm)
To celebrate Christmas, we will be holding class parties on Thursday 16th December. The children should still
wear their school uniform. It will not be necessary to send in party clothes.
We would be grateful for donations for your child’s class party which could include any from the following:
- Crisps Iced Gems Biscuits Small Cakes
- Mini sausages Chicken Nuggets Sausage Rolls Breadsticks
We would request that contributions do not contain nuts and are brought in the day before/the day of the party.
If possible, please send in food items that are individually wrapped. The school will provide water and fruit cordial throughout the afternoon as well as paper plates and disposable cups.
If your child has a specific allergy or dietary requirement, you may provide your child with a specific plate of food for the party. This should be clearly labelled and brought to school on the day of the party.
A separate letter has been sent to the parents and carers of children in Malta (ARP) with further details.

Dear Parents,
We have come to the end of a long term and I am sure that the whole school community is looking forward to a well earned rest. The staff certainly are after what we’ve had to put up with from those mischevious elves! Hopefully you’ve been able to follow the elves antics on facebook with your children-We have certainly had some fun this week!
It was lovely to see everyone supporting the children at their Christmas concerts. They certainly did us all proud. I am pleased to report that we raised the grand total of £1210 which we sincerely hope will help one of our local families through a very difficult time. On behalf of them thank you so much for your generosity.
On behalf of myself and all the staff thank you so much for your cards and generous gifts-I think some of us will be putting on a lot of weight over Christmas!

Havering Catering Services
Week beginning Monday 6th January is week 3 on the Havering catering services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.25.
Please be reminded to top up your child’s catering account as we cannot provide dinners for pupils whose accounts exceed a debt of £10.
Havering catering Service now provide a breakfast club for Mead pupils. For £1.50 your child can have a bacon or sausage sandwich or beans on toast with cereal or toast or fresh fruit or yoghurt plus a drink.
We will also have speciality days when other items such as pancakes and muffins will be available.
In order for you to book a place you will need to deposit the money in advance in your Squid account.
Please do not send your child to school to attend breakfast club if there are no funds in your account as they will not be admitted.

Our attendance so far this academic year is 95.1% which is an improvement on previous years but still short of our 96% target-Let’s hope we can do even better next term.
Well done to Mexico class who at 96.3% have the best attendance for the autumn term-As a reward they will get a session at Jump Evolution next term.
