I think the group were all slightly disappointed that they didn't actually get to spend the night in the woods! The children got busy building their own shelters. Some had beds and even sleeping bags and pillows. Kitchen areas and bathrooms were established, food was hunted for and water was collected. A grappling hook was made in case it was needed to escape and protection walls were built. Several fires pits were created nearby the shelters to aid warmth and light.
The children reflected well on how they might improve their bases and encouraged their friends with how well they had done.
“You could have made it higher,” commented Riley.
“ I like the way you have a tent with 2 entrances,” said Jake.
