Australia Forest School

What a lovely last Forest School Australia had today! Although it was very hot we were able to keep cool under the leafy branches. Today we made bracelets and caterpillars using the branches from elder trees. We had fun chalk painting in the forest and leaf chomping with different shaped cutters. We were very excited to find a very hairy caterpillar under the logs.

We said a big thank you to Mrs Ladybug for all the fun forest activities and adventures.

Forest School Australia

The sun came out for Australia at Forest School today. We started with games in the sunshine. We found numbers and explored different ways minibeasts move. Then we had the opportunity to find our own bugs with nets and pots. Look at our photos to see what we found! There were lots of woodlice! We looked at information books to find out more about these bugs. Everyone had a lovely time.

Australia Forest School

Australia saw lots of changes at Forest School in our first summer visit.  We noticed how the leaves and the grass had all grown and how the bluebells were no longer there. We had fun making our own woodland person by collecting leaves and twigs. Then we got busy digging for treasure, building bridges and dens! Some children were lucky enough to find woodlice.  The hammock and the balance line were very popular as always. The children did great team work in helping each other and taking turns. There were some  delicious things on the menu in the mud kitchen!

Forest School Fun For Australia Class!

It was a wet start to forest school but we had fun matching the eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden. Lots of water poured down the drainpipes and it was great digging in the mud when we found a really long worm! Luckily the rain stopped just in time for a fire and toasting hot cross buns to finish off the term. We can't wait for our next turn for forest school in the Summer term.

Australia's First Forest School!

After all the fun we had in Reception Forest School, our class couldn't wait to get back out there! It was wonderful to see our forest home again, with the leaves, hammock, and crafts all ready for a great afternoon.

Making sure we remembered all our Forest School rules in order to have fun safely and manage risks, we explored a new area in the Forest, and gathered up some beautiful Autumn coloured leaves for a luscious bouquet.

Using coloured rice and natural materials, we made patterns with our friends.

We took turns swinging on the hammock, and used the giant dice to reflect on the experience we had and how it made us feel. We can't wait for the next session!
