Some seriously tasty research.

Year 2 have undertaken some tasty research. For our DT topic we have to make the most delicious fruit kebabs and in order to do this we needed to taste some fruits to make sure we are using everyone's favourites. We had a wide range of fruit to try from a sweet strawberry to a sour, bitter lemon. 

Now we know what fruits we like and the ones we don't, we can make a successful end product.

Happy Easter from Year 2!

In Year 2 we ended what was a fantastic term with such a fun packed week. The children made healthy pizzas as part of our Design and Technology healthy eating topic, they took part in the Easter Extravaganza which included melting chocolate and making mouth watering nests.

It was also so lovely to be able to see parents this week to discuss the children’s progress.

Super sewing in Year 2

 

We would like to share some of our photos from our super Puppet Design and Technology work we have just completed.

To start our topic the children investigated the different types of puppets from Pinocchio to the Muppets. They then created a puppet design whilst thinking about who it could be for and what that person would like. Next the fun began. The children chose from running stitch or over stitch and started joining their material. More fun was then had when the children had to create their characters. When the puppets were made the children got to look at and admire each other’s work and evaluate the finished products.  They thought about how well they followed their design and what they could do better next time.

Last but not least they got to play with them in our theatre.
