Year 2: Drawing Cuddly Toys Using Texture and Viewpoint

In year 2 last term, we explored and described different ways to shade in order to show texture. Can you see how we used the pencils in different ways?
We also looked closely, talked about and drew objects from different viewpoints: the front, back, and both sides.
Here are some of our drawings of cuddly toys using shading to show the texture.

Kenya Class Forest School

 🌲☔️ Kenya Class’s Forest School Adventure! ☔️🌲

Today, Kenya Class in Year 2 had an unforgettable adventure at Forest School, even though the weather was a bit wild with the rain pouring down! But that didn’t stop them from having an amazing time exploring nature. 🌳

The students had the opportunity to get up close with the trees, the mud, and the wildlife, discovering all sorts of exciting things. After a good look around, it was time to warm up with some delicious hot chocolate to keep spirits high. 🍫☕️

Everyone joined in the fun despite the soggy surroundings! 😄

It was an afternoon full of learning, laughter, and lots of muddy boots. We’re so proud of Kenya Class for embracing the rain and making the most of their nature-filled afternoon! 🌧️

Year 2 Exciting Explorers!

Year 2 have loved the start of their history unit on Explorers.

So far, we have learnt about the 29-year voyage of Ibn Battuta and we have studied Marco Polo’s famous journey along the ancient Silk Road.

Children walked along their own Silk Road in the playground looking at items that Marco Polo would have traded and brought back to Europe.

Ask your child:

- Who was Ibn Battuta?

- What did Marco Polo bring back to Europe?
