Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s hard to believe that we have arrived at the end of another term so quickly! We hope that you have a safe and enjoyable Easter. Thank you all for your continued support throughout this term.
Lunchtime Meals Price Increase
We have been informed by Havering catering services that the price of a school meal will rise to £2.45 after Easter. Please see letter sent via Ping from Havering Catering Services with this information. You may be eligible for Free School Meals which you can check and apply online here https://www.havering.gov.uk/info/20006/schools_and_education/431/school_support
Safer Streets Scheme
Many parents have been asking about the Safer Street Scheme to improve the safety of children being dropped off at the start of the school day and collected at the end of the school day. We are working with Havering and hoping that we will be eligible for this support to keep all of our pupils safe.
We have spoken to the children this week about how to cross the road safely. There are also some things that parents and carers can do that will help to keep the children safe. Please consider parking further away from school and walking the rest of the way and if walking make sure that the children know how to cross the roads safely. Please always park considerately and avoid blocking the view of pedestrians and other car users.
Changes to Lunchtime
This week we have been trialling a new structure for lunchtimes in readiness for the Summer Term. The children and staff have been extremely flexible to help us find the right structure that ensures that the children have the support that they need throughout lunchtimes. There was some confusion over water bottles being allowed in the dining hall and we have clarified with the children and staff that water bottles can be taken to the dining hall.
Our School Curriculum
Please take a look at our school website to see what your children are learning https://mead.havering.sch.uk/mead-curriculum/ here you will find all of the information about each subject and information for each year group. You will also find lots of photographs of the children participating in different lessons on our facebook page and our school blog in the latest news section of our website.

Parent View
We would love to hear from you. Parent View is a tool used by OFSTED to measure parents' views of school. It is a short survey asking you to rate the school against a few statements.
We would really appreciate it if you could do the following:
Go to: http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/ and click on the "Give Your Views Now"
Firstly, it will ask you to register and then a password will be sent to your email quite promptly which you will need to log in and complete the survey.
Please take a few minutes to help reflect your views and your support for the school.
