Dear Parents and Carers,ABACUS Afterschool Club
There has been lots of interest in ABACUS Afterschool Club but there have only been a small number of forms handed back in to register. Please make sure that all forms are returned as as soon as possible to ensure that ABACUS is able to open officially on the 17th April. ABACUS will be attending Parents Evening on 21st and 22nd March if you have any questions.
Parents Evening
This year we are booking appointments through the School’s Ping account. You will receive an invite on Today at 3pm through a text message. In order to book a time all you need to do is select the time slot you wish for your child and this will automatically reserve your space. If you are having trouble with this please speak to your child’s class teacher.
RSHE Parent Workshop - Wednesday 22nd March at 9:15am or 2:30pm
This workshop is to discuss the teaching of Relationship, Sex and Health education (RSHE) which we will begin to teach next half term. RSHE is a compulsory part of the curriculum however there are some lessons that are not compulsory. This workshop will explain why we teach RSHE, what we teach and what your rights are as a parent. We welcome you to come and find out exactly what we will be teaching and to express any concerns you may have . You can also look at our RSHE policy on our school website which will help to answer some questions about what we teach in each year group.
Parent View
We would love to hear from you. Parent View is a tool used by OFSTED to measure parents' views of school. It is a short survey asking you to rate the school against a few statements.
We would really appreciate it if you could do the following:
Go to: http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/ and click on the "Give Your Views Now"
Firstly, it will ask you to register and then a password will be sent to your email quite promptly which you will need to log in and complete the survey.
Please take a few minutes to help reflect your views and your support for the school.
Nut allergies Please note that we are a nut free school. Children who suffer from nut allergies can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock. We cannot have nuts in school in any form so please can we ask that you have no nut products in the lunch boxes or brought into the school as treats.
