Today was all about survival. Some of Year 3 were hopeful to be staying out in the forest for the night and others were pleased to be able to go home. The children decided that to survive they would need to think about shelter, warmth, protection, water, food, entertainment and contact with the outside world incase they needed help. So they set to it creating bases and preparing their sites for surviving. Time was against us but shelters were made with tarps, ropes and sticks. Campfires were built and music made to keep themselves entertained. Weapons were found or created for protection and the children took great joy in encouraging each other with what they had done well. We just about had time to tidy up but everyone is keen to keep developing these skills after half term.
Well done Year 3!
