Dear Parents and Carers,
Updated COVID-19 Guidance for Schools
As you will be aware, on Monday, Boris Johnson announced the next step in lifting the restrictions across the country. As you will have heard, the country as a whole is making good progress in overcoming the virus, and things will be able to return to something closer to normality next week.
However, I must draw your attention to the fact that the guidance for primary schools has not changed. We have been informed that we remain subject to the same strict rules and guidelines until further notice. At this stage, no specific date has been put on when this will change, although I know the Department for Education continues to review the situation for schools.
This has come as a bit of a surprise as we had hoped for restrictions in school to ease in the same way they are in wider society. However, we will of course continue to uphold the guidelines that have been set for us, and we will have to be patient. I had hoped to be able to start pencilling in some end-of-year events, but this is not possible under the current framework. We will have to await the next update to see what will be permitted and what changes and plans we can make.
I know everyone is feeling rather fatigued with the pandemic now, but I must ask you to continue to support the school with its existing restrictions and remain vigilant in monitoring your child’s health.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr D Denchfield
