Dear Parent,

What a difficult week this has been!
Apologies for the short notice about the closure on Monday but it wasn’t evident until I got to school that the heating was malfunctioning. I am pleased to report it is now fixed.

Well done to everyone for battling the arctic conditions to get to school on Wednesday. However, as conditions deteriorated it became clear that for safety reasons we would need to close the school on Thursday and Friday. It was not a decision that was taken lightly, as we do try to do as much as we can to keep our school open for the children. However, a large number of our staff drive in from quite a distance away and for some it was impossible to get to school. This was likely to result in insufficient staff to pupil ratios. We appreciate how difficult this is for working parents and we hope that you had enough time to make alternative arrangements. Thank you for your continued support. We fully expect the situation to improve by Monday so we can carry on as normal next week.

World Book Day
It was disappointing that we could not go ahead with World Book Day, as I know a number of children were looking forward to showing off their costumes. We will be re-scheduling, hopefully this coming Friday, but we are waiting for confirmation from a visitor, who was supposed to join us for the day. I will update the blog to confirm the date as soon as she gets back to me.
