Dear Parents,
Well done to everyone who took part in the Sport Relief Mile walk/run this morning- So far we have raised over £800, with more money due to be collected next week.I will let you know the final total in my next newsletter.

Achievements
We have lots to celebrate this week!

Congratulations to the year 6 pupils who represented Mead at the maths competition on Wednesday and despite tough opposition came away winners.

We are doing exceptionally well in sports activities. Our netball team finished joint top of their league with Broadford and our basketball team took part in a tournament at Drapers Brookside earlier in the week and won- we now have another shiny cup in our trophy cabinet. Our tag rugby team, having won a havering inter school tournament, went to Crystal Palace to represent Havering in the London Games-They came up against really tough opposition and should be very proud of being placed 20th out of the 32 schools taking part. Our football team took part in a competition at Hilldene yesterday and were desperately unlucky to lose to St Ursula’s on penalties having reached the final.

We have had some fantastic entries into the Science Week Learning Challenge competition from Year 1- Year 6. Some of the ideas, models and experiments children have done at home have been amazing, whilst lots of other children have opted for interesting research projects into famous scientists!
