Award winning writer Jeremy Strong visited Mead on the 19th March. Each year group got the opportunity to meet Jeremy and hear about how he writes. After sharing his top tips, he read extracts from some of his bestselling books. Pupils then were able to ask Jeremy questions about his writing.
Year 5 pupils had been focusing on the style of Jeremy Strong throughout their literacy and language lessons. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed meeting Jeremy. Many year 5s expressed how Jeremy’s top tips will help them to develop their stories even more. Sophie in USA class commented “It was really interesting to find out how Jeremy plans his story in so much detail, I am definitely going to do this in the future.”
Other pupils came away asking their teacher for a fridge as Jeremy said how he needed snacks whilst writing his books.
Kian was shocked by how long it takes for Jeremy to write his books “I can’t believe how long it takes for Jeremy to write his books, this has inspired me to spend more time on my writing to make it even better.”
