Children across
the whole school have been enjoying science this week as they have been
participating in a variety of fun activities, investigations, assemblies and
workshops.
Years 1-5
enjoyed a fun science show about bubbles with Gooey Stewie whilst Year 6
participated in his workshops.
From bubbles on
fire to hundreds of tiny bubbles across the hall, the children loved finding
out about how bubbles always form in a sphere regardless of the shape of the
wand.
Some lucky
children including Amelia N and Tobey R in Year 3 and 4 even got put inside a
giant bubble!
Year 6 children
enjoyed a hands on workshop where they created their own rockets out of a straw, paper and blu tac. Gooey Stewie took the classes outside to set off a big rocket launcher which the children loved!
Also, we have had some fantastic entries into the Science Week Learning Challenge competition from Year 1- Year 6. Some of the ideas and experiments children have done at home have been amazing, whilst lots of other children have opted for interesting research projects into some famous scientists! Winners and runner ups will be announced in assembly at the end of this week.
