Forest School Week 4

As the woodland continues to be developed, the children get to enjoy observing the changes as they occur. Everyone was excited to see one of the fire pits complete this week. At the end of our session, we practised how we would use the fire pit safely when having a real fire. Throughout the session the children worked in self selected small groups. Some continued to develop a natural woodland structure adding detail to sections of their home. Others enjoyed identifying trees and some hunted for fungus - unfortunately they could not find any fungus yesterday. The wind posed a challenge to a couple of groups using tarpaulins and ropes to build shelters but with persistence and teamwork they succeeded. A whole variety of challenges were overcome throughout yesterday's session. Well done Year 3 for persisting!
