Cycling Skills

Our Year 1 and 2 pupils who took part in the beginners cycling sessions last Thursday and Friday are incredibly proud of themselves for their sensational cycling skills!

Staff from Cycle Confidence played games with the children to get them balancing and looking ahead of them.

The children were heard responding in chorus-
If you look down where will you go?
"DOWN!"
If you look forward, where will you go?
"FORWARD!"

Pupils were seen adopting the 'Position of Power' and launching themselves off 'like a rocket booster!' Out of the 20 pupils who took part, 60% can now ride confidently and a further 20% are almost there.

Due to overwhelming demand (around 100 applicants for 20 places!) Mrs Eubanks and the Travel Team are laying on an additional skills session next Friday for those who can already ride their bikes without stabilisers.

In addition we have booked another 2 day beginners' course for December 5th and 6th . Pupils on the waiting list will be notified soon if they have been allocated a place on this course.

We will try to provide enough sessions over the year so that every child who requested a place gets their training.
