Forest School - Year 3 - Week 9

Forest School - Year 3 - Week 9

We started our session with a game of trust. Working in pairs one person was blindfolded while their partner led them across the woods to a tree. Then when the blindfold was removed they retraced their steps to find their tree. Some trees were more difficult to locate than others depending on the distance traveled and the size and shape of the tree. We moved on to spend some time continuing to work on fires, building the children resilience as they tried and tried again. Everyone lit at least one fire and some moved on to making their own fire square on the ground, clearing a space and creating the barrier of the square using sticks. We ended with forest bathing, a favourite part of the session for many. When asked how forest bathing makes you feel the following answers were given; happy, chilled, relaxed, calm, soooo happy! A great afternoon.

Well done Year 3!
