Young Voices
A huge well done to the children who represented Mead at the O2 Young Voices this week. The children had an amazing experience and sang all day and all night. The children were fantastic role models. A special thank you to the school adults who prepared the children and supported them throughout the event.
Strike Action
You will be aware that the NEU (National Education Union) have called their members to participate in strike action. Currently, strikes that affect Havering schools are planned for:
Wednesday 1st February
Thursday 2nd March
Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th March
We do not yet know the impact of the strike action and how it will affect the operations of our school. The ability to remain open or partially open will depend on the number of union members taking strike action. The decision to fully or partially open the school will be made as soon as possible and parents notified once the decision has been made.
Parent Partnership Meetings
Apologies to those who had made arrangements to attend the Maths Parent Partnership Meeting this week. The meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday 9th March at 9am. We look forward to seeing you then.
Pick up and Collection
Over the past few weeks there have been a number of near misses and parking illegally across driveways on Amersham Road. Please park mindfully and ensure that you are aware and cautious of pedestrians crossing the road, particularly by the Infant entrance.
The Council will be carrying out traffic surveys at the end of January near our school. This will give the Council an idea of the current levels of traffic and pedestrian movement so that they are able to make a realistic assessment on the traffic situation, both for now and in the future. Please note that there will be staff on site and cameras in the area at this time and all Staff will have identification on them at all times.
