Reception Newletter Summer 2 Week 4

Summer 2 25.06.18

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope you are having a lovely weekend so far. We have a busy 4 day week ahead; tomorrow and Tuesday we will be visiting the library and on Thursday we have our trip to Paradise Wildlife Park. I know how excited the children have been about our impending trip as we have been doing a countdown for the number of sleeps left!

Thank you again for your continued support and cooperation in encouraging your child to come in to school in the morning independently, it is much appreciated and will help in their transition into Year 1.

We will be continuing our learning about the World. This week we will be reading the book "The snail and the whale" by Julia Donaldson and continuing our learning about other countries in the world and identifying rhyming words.

A little reminder Wednesday is our PE day, please ensure your child has their named PE kit in school. We have a lot of lost property accumulating in school which cannot be returned to their rightful owner as they are unnamed.

With our expected heatwave this week please ensure your child comes to school with a sun hat, sun cream and water bottle. For our trip on Thursday please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the warm weather and they have enough water to keep themselves hydrated.

If your child has needed a change of clothes, could you please ensure these are sent back into school as we now have no spare clothes in school!

This week is Week 1 of the Havering catering services. Monday's choices are:
Red- Pork sausage with mash potato

Blue- Tuna and sweetcorn baguette

Green- Cheesy leek pasta
