Newsletter 15.06.18

Dear Parents,
Our year 5 pupils are due to return to school today after a very busy 3 days in Mersea where they have experienced a number of very exciting activities. Thankfully the weather was kind to them and when I saw them yesterday they were all having fun.

Havering Catering Competition
KS1
All KS1 pupils should have received a copy of the picture for the colouring competition and I am looking forward to seeing some of the creative menus they have come up with. Each school taking part will have a winner who will receive a terms worth of school lunches (which will be honoured when they move up to KS2). All winners will then be whittled down to 1 overall borough winner and 2 runners up. The overall winner will win a whole academic years’ worth of school lunches and the recipe on the next menu with the name and school and the two runners up will get 2 terms each of school lunches. The initial individual school winner will be drawn on the 12th July and the overall winners will be announced on 17th July.

KS2
The veggie run badge collection started this week. There will be 10 badges to collect in total and over a five week period the collection should be complete. In order to collect them, KS2 pupils need to purchase a school meal on the allocated days to receive the badges. Those who have collected all 10 badges will be entered in to a draw when 2 pupils will win a bike with crash helmet each. The draws will take place in school on 12th July and all winners (2 from each school) will be awarded their prize at the Town Hall on 17th July.

Summer Fete
The LFPA will be holding a Summer Fete on Saturday 30th June at Mead Primary School between 11 am - 4 pm. This will be a great day for the whole family. Bring your friends, families and neighbours along to join in the fun. If you are able to give up some time on the day or would like to run a stall at the fete, please see one of the LFPA volunteers. Many thanks.
