Today,
the pupils explored erosion and deposition. Each group
had 3 trays: one filled with earth, another filled with sand and one with a
mixture of both. They recreated river banks and cliff faces and then poured
water onto it. The had to observe how the water eroded the material and the
deposited it along its journey. They had to observe whether one material was
eroded quicker than the other. They also experimented with the tray being flat
and on an incline to see if that changed things.
