Dear Parents,

Those who remained had the opportunity to take part in activities in school and went on a number of interesting visits-So a good time was had by all! Back to normal next week!

Thank you to everyone who donated money to the Grenfell Tower fire disaster. We have collected an amazing £696.46 which will be sent on to help the families affected by this terrible event. I’m sure your kindness will be very much appreciated.

sQuid
Our launch day is fast approaching! As of Wednesday 21st June Mead Primary School will become a cashless school. All dinners and school trips will need to be paid for through the sQuid system.

Parents/Carers should register, using the information in the letter brought home by pupils, last week and if necessary have deposited monies for dinners. Everyone must register for an account even if your child receives a free school meal.

We have listened to feedback from other school's in the area who have implemented the system and have decided that the kitchen will not be selling drinks. If drinks are purchased it can be very confusing for parents to monitor the value on each sQuid account. However, there will of course be plenty of water/squash available for the pupils every lunchtime.

If you have difficulties setting up or accessing your account Mrs Kinchella/Miss Purcell will be more than happy to help you.

Year 4 visit
On Tuesday a group of year 4 archaeologists visited the British Museum in London looking for clues to the identities of a number of Ancient Greek gods and goddesses. They looked closely at artefacts from over 2500 years ago to identify the gods from the objects they carried. Andrei managed to spot Zeus by looking for his thunder bolt and Dionysos was easy to spot with his cup of wine. The children all agreed that it was a great way to get up close to such ancient artefacts.

Have a fabulous weekend

Yours sincerely,

Mrs L Smith
