Date 12.09.2016

We are very excited to be welcoming our new children into Mead Primary school this week. This is the start of a wonderful new learning partnership where school and home work together to provide the best possible opportunities for the children.
As a reminder your child will be in one of the following three classes working with the staff mentioned below.

St Lucia Class-Mrs Pidgeon and Miss Brennan
Barbados Class-Miss Edwards and Miss Smith
Jamaica Class-Miss Fell and Miss Fassenfelt

Your child will be attending either morning sessions or afternoon sessions.
If your child is attending in the morning, there session times are 8.55 -11.30.
The afternoon sessions run between 12.30 and 3.05.

Next week the times will remain the same except for one trial lunch day.
The morning children will stay for lunch on Thursday 22nd September and be collected at 12.15. The afternoon children will arrive at 12.00 on Friday 23rd
September.
All children will attend school full time 8.30-3.05 from Monday 26TH September.

Our topic this half term will be Ourselves. This week is all about the children settling into their new learning environment, meeting their new school friends and getting to know key adults within school. We will support the children in learning school routines and rules while offering them a range of learning experiences in their inside learning environment and their super newly refurbished outside area. The children will come home with their first reading book towards the end of the week. They will be very excited by this so please create some time to share this book with them.

Please feel free to discuss any concerns with EYFS staff we are here to make the transition into school as smooth as possible. Look out for messages and pictures on the Mead Primary School face book page and the Mead Primary School website.

We look forward to working with you and your children
