Maths in action across Reception

It has been lovely to see maths in action across reception. The children have been using the manipulatives to solve their own numerical problems and consolidating their learning. Recently in maths we have been looking at the composition of numbers and using stem sentences to say how a number is made for example 5 is made of 3 and 2. We are using our "fast eyes" to identify a quantity and have been making comparisons of numbers to identify one more. Here are just a few examples of what great mathematicians you are Reception!
