Fiji class were out in our forest this week, learning about birds with Jessi Jackdaw!
All of the children concentrated brilliantly when looking for birds and listening to their calls. We learned to recognise blackbirds, bluetits, robins and woodpeckers!
The children were excited to wander through the woods with a partner and tick birds off on their list, talking to each other about what they found.
We ventured out to the grassy field and lay in a circle spotting crows, pigeons and starlings in the sky, and noticing nests in the big oak tree.
Jessi showed us a real birds nest - it was made of moss and feathers. We all collected feathers and sticks to make our own nests.
Well done Fiji!
