Year 2 get to look at Fire Fighting 'Now'!

This week Year 2 visited the local fire station as part of our history work.  The children had great fun finding out what it is like to be a firefighter now. They have been comparing now with life in the time of The Great Fire of London in 1666.  They are so knowledgeable about the facts of The Great Fire of London and how Samuel Pepys' eye witness account has helped us find out what it was like 'then'. They know this event in history has also changed the way houses are built.

The children sat on the fire engine and they were able to actually spray the hose.
Great fun was had by all and the children were so well behaved.
Well done Year 2!
