The children across Reception had a WOW experience today as we were very fortunate to have some professionals come in and talk to us about their jobs. We met PC Wayne who explained how his main job was helping people. He then showed the children some of the different police hats he wears, the different vehicles police officers use and spoke about his day to day duties. When we met our school nurse they spoke about healthy eating and the children were asked to identify foods which would make a healthy and unhealthy lunchbox, Hamza told us that "water has zero sugar" and Savannah said that by "drinking milk we can keep our bones healthy". To end our day we got to meet our local fire fighters and even got to sit inside their truck. We then got to experiment with their hose to see how far the water would go!
There was lots of awe and wonder on the children's faces and we would like to extend our THANKS to all those that helped make this day such a success!
