On Friday 14th February, Year 4 will be taking part in a Rainforest Workshop which will be held in school to enhance their learning. The workshop will consist of the following:
- Three professionally trained actors will perform an interactive courtroom drama. The drama is based on illegal logging and endangered animals in the Rainforest. Your children will meet with a Macaw and Sloth who are giving evidenced against Logan Logger who has been caught illegally logging. The children will play members of the Jury and decide the sentence of the accused.
- Your children will then participate in a Tribal dance workshop. Using Rainforest music, masks and props the children will get to explore the character's and themes from the courtroom drama through dance.
- Storytelling, here your children will learn about the indigenous people and the demise of the Rainforest through oral storytelling.
