Year 4 Trip

Year 4 - London Eye and River Thames Boat

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Mead we recognise the importance of an enriching curriculum inside and outside of the classroom and have therefore planned a trip for our Year 4 children. The trip will allow the children to discover the history of London, economy and trade, the River Thames and changes over time. They will also get the opportunity to learn how to locate and categorise London's main Physical and Human features into North, South, East and West compass positions and describe the Physical and Human features of London in relation to the capital's history and how it has changed over time.

The Year 4 children will be visiting London on Monday 8th July (Germany Class), Tuesday 9th July (Greece Class) and Wednesday 10th July (Italy Class). All children should be in school by 8:45am as we will be leaving at 9:00am. We expect to arrive back at school at approximately 3.30pm. The children will be travelling via train to and from London.

Children will need to bring a packed lunch in a named carrier bag or pay on SQuid for a school packed lunch to be made.

The trip costs £1,345.50 in total for all three Year 4 classes. We are asking for a contribution of £10.00 per child to cover part of the cost of this trip and the school will pay the remaining part. Please make your contributions on sQuid.

If you have any questions or queries about payment, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher. We thank you for your continuing support.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Spinks
