Survival week for Year 3. As the children are learning about World War 2 we linked the survival aspect with the war. In groups the children set off to find a base, create a shelter, think about food and water. They gave consideration to weapons and camouflage along with how they might create fire or light. Lots of creativity took place. Each group chose a hidden area among the leaves to make their shelter providing the required camouflage. Weapons included a laser grid, sniper guns and grenades. One group even set up a rations bag and one full of medical supplies to cover any injuries. It was lovely to watch the children build on and develop their ideas as they went along.
