The school council representatives have been learning how to look after the goats on Mead Farm. With the help of Mrs Rowton, they enthusiastically mucked out and fed the goats Paige, Bertie and Blue. After that the children were able to spend some time grooming them. Paige absolutely adores being brushed. Bertie and Blue were a bit more energetic. 'They tried to catch us' exclaimed Ivan. 'I liked feeding them' said Dianna. Millie was surprised, 'Bertie was eating my coat. I think he likes me!'
The school council have been learning about the goats as they are supporting the WE campaign 'The Goat That Gives Back'. In the new year the children will be raising awareness and fundraising to supply goats to families in developing countries. These donated goats are helping parents to earn money to enable them to feed and educate their children.
More details will follow after Christmas.
