Stratford Music Festival

On Monday 6th of February, Mead children went to The Stratford & East London Music Festival.

The Stratford & East London Festival is the oldest music and drama festival in the UK. It is affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals, of which Her Majesty the Queen is patron and every year many schools across East London enter the competition presenting their musical abilities.

Numerous musicians and actors can trace the start of their careers from success at the Stratford & East London Music Festival.

This year, our children represented Mead Primary School in two categories: Wider Opportunity Recorder Class and Junior Choir Two Part Singing Class.

Our Year 3 Recorder Group won with an incredible score of 87 marks and were awarded a Distinction. Meanwhile our Mead Singers came second (losing by only one mark to the winner) and were awarded a Commendation. We are extremely proud of our pupils and we would like to thank them for all the hard work and dedication. Also well done and thank you to Miss Kumszczynska and Mr Gowers who work so hard to ensure music at Mead is at such a high standard.
