Reading at Mead

Reading at Mead

A child's reading skills are important to their success in school and work. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative activity for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them. We are keen to encourage our children to read both in school and at home and are introducing incentives to promote reading across the school.
  • When your child has read 10 books he/she will receive a bookmark
  • 25 books will be acknowledged with a bronze certificate
  • Pupils who have read 50 books will receive a silver certificate and a £5 book voucher
  • When they have read 75 books they will be presented with a book
  • And when they have read 100 books they will receive a gold certificate and a trophy
For children who are free readers 100 pages=1 book
