This week Reception have been been reading the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and have made some edible bear faces with bread, fruit and chocolate spread. It was a lovely opportunity to talk about healthy eating and the importance of eating a variety of foods, as well as getting creative with the toppings!
Teddy tried a blueberry for the first time, and Tyler said ‘It’s delicious! I’ve used two raisins for the eyes.’ The children spread the toppings themselves with supervision from an adult - Joshua said ‘Do you like my spreading? I’m being very careful.’
Alesha talked about the baking that she does at home, and Jacob used a slice of banana for the bear’s nose, ‘with raisins for nostrils!’
The children loved getting creative with their bears and choosing their toppings (almost as much I’m sure they loved eating them!)
