Year 4 Black History Month

The theme for Black History Month this year was "Saluting Our Sisters". In Year 4, the children researched an influential Black British woman of their choice from different industries including sports, politics, music, science and medicine, broadcasting and entertainment, literature and arts. They chose very interesting people such as the author Malorie Blackman, Mathematician Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon, Mary seacole, a war-time nurse, the tennis player Heather Watson or the singer Emili Sande.

Arsalaan chose Dr Maggie Andorin Pococok who is an expert in the field of Science. Arsalaan is interested in Scienctific discoveries and wanted to find out what her accomplishments are.


Lorienne chose to research Lauren James, a footballer who played for England. 


Charley chose to research the boxer Nicola Adams. She wanted to find out how she became a famous boxer.
