Butterflies taking flight....

Our very hungry caterpillars have changed into beautiful butterflies.

The children have been growing their very own butterflies, they have been very patient and observed them going through their lifecycle.  Once they had emerged from their chrysalis we had to wait for their wings to be strong enough to be released.  The children were very excited to see them fly but also a little sad as they had really enjoyed observing them over time.

The children all waved goodbye as the butterflies went on their next adventure.

Glorious bees

It was another poem the children in reception learnt this week during our poetry basket sessions. This weeks poem was all about bees in celebrating of national bee day.

Attendance success in Barbados class

To celebrate our recent good attendance, the children in Barbados class had a day filled with rewards from our attendance-opoly board. This morning we celebrated with bubble wands on the field and this afternoon we had fun in the sun playing parachute games including cat and mouse. Well done Barbados class for your great attendance, keep it up!

Well done year 3!

Congratulations to the year 3 children below. They have been completing lots of activities on Mathletics and have earned a certificate for their efforts.

Well done Year 2!

Year 2 have worked so hard this half term and today they had a well deserved party.

We are all so proud of you all!

Have a great half-term break.

Year 2 Reading with Parents

In the spirit of the ‘The Big Help Out’ theme it was lovely to see so many parents volunteering in Year 2 again this week.

The children have really enjoyed reading to other adults during this half-term especially their friends parents.
Thank you so much for your continued support.

Year 3 builds Ancient Egypt!

To finish off our Ancient Egypt topic, Year 3 built a 3D version of Egypt complete with pyramids, temples and the River Nile! Well done, some amazing creations!

It's a long, long way to Tipperary

In Year 5, we have been learning about music during the First World War. We listened to the song ''It's a long, long way to Tipperrpary'' written by Englishman Jack Judge two years before the First War broke out. The song became extremely popular and was sung by young men marching off to war.

We enjoyed playing a rhythmical ostinato to the song using percussion instruments.
