Year 3 - Spending lots of money in maths

Today in maths, the children in year 3 were practising using their addition and subtraction skills with money. They used pretend money to role play an experience within a real life shop. Children took on the roles of a customer and a shopkeeper. The customer ordered their items from the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper would then add, using methods they have been taught in school, to give a total price to the customer. The customer would then use the pretend money to give the shopkeeper the exact money. Some customers paid with a £5 note so the shopkeeper could work out the change that they needed to give back to their customer.

Well done Year 3!
