Reception Newsletter Summer Term Week 1

Term: Summer 1 Date: 16.04.18

Dear Parents,
Welcome back everyone, we hope you and your children are well rested and had a lovely Easter break. This term our topic is growing and changing. We will be looking at humans, creatures and plants.

As we move into our final term in Early Years we will be trying to encourage a higher level of independence. If you could talk to your children about leaving you at the door and choosing their own lunches we would appreciate it. We will be praising children that do this independently from Week beginning 23rd April.

We will be reading and exploring various texts. This week we will start with `Mad about Mini beasts`. We will be exploring mini beasts and their habitats and hunting for mini beasts. On Thursday we will have a visitor in  school to talk to the children about insects and take them into our wooded area for a mini beast hunt.

If you have any junk materials for the children to create mini beast environments we would really appreciate it.

The learning challenge will include either a nursery rhyme, famous person, illustration or a piece of music. Please talk to your child about the challenge and help them to engage in their learning.
