LFPA Race Night Success - Thank you for all your support!

A big thank you to our Family Race Night sponsors @JoskosSolutions, @Empiribox, @AbleCanopies, @McDonaldsUK, @EngageEducation, Action Cleaning, Space Ltd, Bows n Balloons and Supply Desk.

Our Learning Federation Parents’ Association raised a record breaking £4500 at the schools’ Family Race Night on Friday 12th May 2017.

Michelle Saunders, chair of the association said: “Parents have already been warned that the new Education Funding Formula could impact on trips, staffing and resources. We want to ensure we do everything possible in terms of fundraising to minimise the disruption on our children’s education.

The event welcomed over 100 families to Mead Primary School to enjoy a night of horse racing on the big screen, guests were able to pledge 50p per race on their favourite horse. Food, drink and music accompanied the evenings entertainment. Everyone who attended was entered into the raffle, prizes included tablet computers, family meals out, swimming lessons, shopping vouchers and stationary hampers to name just a few.

Lisa O’Flynn, parent and treasurer of the association said: “We only recently established ourselves as a federated Parents’ Association, we have now set the bar high for future fundraising events. Our Mother’s Day flower sale in March raised over £1000 for the schools. We’re setting ourselves a yearly fundraising target of £10,000.”

Malcolm Drakes, Executive Headteacher said: “We have been delighted at the way the two parent communities have come together to support this event. To raise such a significant sum is an incredible achievement and testament to the commitment shown by our team of volunteers.
