Weekly Newsletter - Important Information
Friday 17th January 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have continued with our focus on positive behaviour and reinforcing our Mead Creed of being Ready, Respectful, and Safe. These values are integral to creating a positive and productive learning environment for all our pupils. We will be talking to the children next week about the importance of ‘Call me by my name’, how our names are an important part of our identity, a special gift from our parents, and how it should be used to show respect to one another. This is an interesting talking point, so if there is a special meaning behind your child’s name, please take this opportunity to share it with them.
It has been an exciting week for Nursery with our new cohort of 2 year olds joining the class. The children have settled well and it has been a pleasure to have them start their education here at Mead. Continuing the theme of new experiences, Kenya and Morocco had their first year 2 Forest School lessons with Ms Blowers. It was fantastic to see the children’s curiosity and love for nature as they all came home wearing the pendants they had made during the session.
Pupil parliament met this week, and discussed enrichment opportunities and clubs that are currently available at Mead. They worked as representatives for their year groups and gathered opinions from all of the children to share at the meeting. They had some exciting ideas that will be discussed with the leadership and lunch time team over the coming weeks, so watch this space!
Thank you for your ongoing support for your children and our school. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday, before the gate closes at 8:45am, ready for another successful week.
Scooters and Bikes
Please remember that children and adults should not be riding scooters or bikes once inside the school gates. We will be reminding the children of this in assemblies and we thank you in advance for your support with keeping all of our school community safe.
