Weekly Newsletter - 16/09/22

Dear Parents and Carers,

This has been another busy week in school and the children have been working very hard. I was very proud to share so many lunchtime awards today for children who have been such positive role models as well as being kind and helpful to their friends. This week we welcomed the new Reception classes who have settled in very well. There have been lots of smiling faces and we look forward to seeing them move next week as they start full time. Well done to everyone!

As you know we will be closed on Monday 19th September as this is an official Bank Holiday for the state Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. School will be open as normal on Tuesday 20th September.

End of the School Day

If you are unable to collect your child/ren at the end of the day, please make the office aware of who is collecting them so that the teachers are aware. If we have not received notification, we will always check before allowing your child to go with another adult.

Year 6 will now be coming out of the Music room door (KS2 Playground) at the end of the school day and not out onto the KS1 Playground.

In order to help with dismissing the children at the end of the day, we ask that all adults move back away from the doors. A large crowd of adults can be quite overwhelming for some children and we must ensure that we get all of the children to their adults safely.

Over the next week we will be reviewing our end of day procedures and will inform you of any changes in advance. Thank you for your understanding.

Parent Hub
On Wednesday we welcomed the Parent Hub into school. Thank you to all of those who attended. The Parent Hub will soon be sharing details of a Movie Night and activities arranged for Christmas. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th October, if you are able to give up a small part of your day or willing to volunteer for events, please do come along.

Afterschool Club

There has been lots of interest in a school based after school club. We are looking to provide after school care through ABACUS after school club. When we shared this information last year there was not enough interest to make this a viable option and ask that all parents who would use the Afterschool provision register their interest. Please complete the link below 30th September to register interest in ABACUS after school club and ask questions about the provision https://forms.gle/eSCpHAbDhxypedyT6.
