Dear Parents and Carers,
World Book Day
The children looked incredible yesterday as they celebrated World Book Day. It was wonderful to see the effort that so many had gone to to dress up as their favourite book characters. The amount of homemade costumes were fantastic. The children took part in lots of activities with reading and even had to guess the masked readers. We hope you can find a book to enjoy with the £1 book token which can be spent at local supermarkets and bookshops.
Special Menu
As part of beating their attendance target. Malaysia were able to roll the dice during Attendance-opoly. They landed on designing a menu for the whole school so they will be designing the menu for Friday 11th March. The menu will be sent out to all parents next week via School Ping.
Havering School Holiday Meal Scheme
Havering Council will continue the School Holiday Meal Scheme for Easter. The scheme allows eligible families to receive £30 per child to cover the two week school break, by ensuring families can purchase food over the holiday period to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day.
The Easter application window will open for a short period from Wednesday 2 March at 9am, closing on Wednesday 9 March at 5pm. Families who have previously received payment via the scheme do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the funds into their nominated bank. Further details about the scheme can be found on the Council’s website.
