Weekly Newsletter - 26/11/21- Important Information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Parent Partnership Mornings

We are pleased to be able to share the dates for our Parent Partnership Mornings. Each Parent Partnership meeting will have a curriculum focus and keep you updated on what is happening across the school. All meetings will take place in the KS2 Hall and tea and coffee will be provided. Our first meeting will be on Thursday 27th January and will be focussed on Reading and Phonics. Further dates can be found in the Key Information and Dates section below. We look forward to seeing you there.

Parking

Please be considerate of our neighbours when parking to pick up and drop off your children. We have had an increased number of neighbours who have shared concerns about this and some who have been blocked in and unable to leave for work. The speed in which some cars are travelling on the road is too fast. Please consider your speed and keep our children safe.

Application to open for the Christmas School Holiday Meal Scheme

Applications for the Christmas School Holiday Meal Scheme will open from 9 am on Friday 26 November.

Through the Government’s Household Support Fund, the Council has allocated funding to continue the School Holiday Meal Scheme for December, which will allow eligible families to receive £30 per child to cover the two-week Christmas school break.
The scheme provides funds to ensure that eligible families can purchase food over the holidays to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day. The application window will open for a short period from Friday 26 November at 9 am, closing on Friday 3 December at 5 pm.

Families who have previously received payment via the scheme do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the funds into their nominated bank. If you believe you may be eligible – please contact our school office and we will be please to help you – or you can check out the details on the Council’s website

Mrs Cullum- Antigua Class

Mrs Cullum will be leaving Mead at the end of the Autumn term as she is relocating with her young family. Mrs Cullum has worked at Mead for 7 years. She has taught many children throughout the school and knows the school community well. She has been a dedicated member of our school team and we wish her all the best in her new venture. We will welcome Ms Richardson, who is an experienced EYFS teacher into the reception team, who will share responsibility of Antigua Class with Mrs Glover. Ms Richardson will be in school to work alongside Mrs Cullum over the coming weeks to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible for the children. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Mrs Cullum the best of luck.
