Reception learning challenge homework

Dear Parents/Carers

Following the success of our 'Dinosaur' topic we will continue to adapt the way we ask children to complete their learning challenge. When we return after half term our next topic will be on ‘Growing and changing’. We will be starting our learning by looking at minibeasts and their habitats and feel the children will benefit from additional support. Here are a few examples of how you can help:

  •        Finding out key facts about minibeasts, which can then be illustrated

  •         Going on a bug hunt and exploring their natural environment

  •        Children could create their very own minibeast books or

  •         make their very own Minibeast habitat

In addition to the above, please continue to read regularly with your child at home practicing their sounds and encouraging them with their letter formation. We are enjoying seeing and sharing the children's independent writing within class. Additional support in identifying their numbers to 20, solving simple addition and subtraction problems will also continue to help develop their confidence in number work.

    Many thanks
    Reception team
