Reception release their butterflies!

The wait is over.................

For the last couple of weeks Reception have been raising caterpillars - the children were fascinated by watching them grow and spin their chrysalids.  All our butterflies finally hatched, and today we released them into our outside area! Some of the children had the chance to gently hold the butterflies before they took their first flight.  We discussed the best places to release them - Lola suggested "Near the trees, in case they need to rest on the branches". After a wobbly start all the butterflies were able to fly for the first time.
