STARS competition winners!

Stars 10th Anniversary Logo Badge Competition.

The theme for this year's logo badge design competition was
'How does STARS get young London moving?'
STARS is a scheme run by TFL (Transport for London) . It stands for

Sustainable Travel: Active, Responsible, Safe.

STARS encourages the whole school community to think differently about their travel choices and how these can impact their health, well being and the local environment.
It encourages young people to choose active travel modes, such as walking, cycling and scooting to school. Using public transport or Park and Stride (park further away from school and walk ) can also help reduce congestion and pollution around the school gates.
Well done to all those pupils who entered the competition- you all receive 3 housepoints.
Members of the Travel Team met last week to judge the entries.
They gave each entry a score out based on 4 criteria:
Is it a Logo?
Is it relevant to sustainable travel?
Is it clear and bold?
Is it neatly drawn?

Full marks from all the judges went to Sumaiyah Shafique from Canada class, Year 5. She received a fluorescent travel bag, containing lights and a reflective vest and snap band.

The team  choose 10 runners up, who will  receive a cycle or scooter extra playtime next week.
